1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a 5 out of 5.
This type of creative is excellent for beauty and skincare brands. People are often skeptical about buying skincare products because they’re unsure about the impact or don’t fully believe in the potential benefits.
A before-and-after ad is perfect for addressing these concerns and influencing the purchase decision of your target audience.
It shows that the product works for people with similar pain points, making it easier to trust the product.
2. Click Score:
This earns another 3 out of 5 from me.
The ad catches your attention with its before-and-after theme. However, the headline and description do not support the creative well.
Instead of using “Niacinamide” twice in the description and headline, the space could have been used to highlight specific benefits of the product.
3. Ugly Score:
This is a good 3.5 out of 5.
I like that the format of the ad is basic, with nothing flashy or polished. However, the creative still follows branding guidelines, which reduces the ugly score.
People might build tolerance toward Minimalist’s branding guidelines and become immune to the message.
4. Congruency Score:
This ad’s congruency score is a solid 5 out of 5.
You’re redirected to the serum’s product page, where you find the exact same benefits listed as showcased in the ad. The landing page is pleasing to the eyes and easy to navigate.
It also has CTAs, customer testimonials, and related product catalogs placed at the right spots.
Caption:
This caption gets a 2 out of 5.
It’s just a missed opportunity. The caption does not support the creative. The one line does little to enhance the click rate or drive users to the landing page.
I would have preferred if they had started with a testimonial and then capitalized on the emotions expressed (with consent).
How can you use this for your business?
- If your product delivers noticeable results, such as in beauty, health, or home improvement sectors, use before-and-after images to highlight the transformation. This visual proof can quickly grab attention and is particularly persuasive because it showcases the effectiveness of your product.
- When you use technical terms or ingredients like “Niacinamide,” ensure that your copy also includes easy-to-understand benefits that relate directly to the customer’s needs and pain points.
- Make every word count in your captions. Start with a strong hook, such as a compelling question or statement that reflects the viewer’s potential skepticism or desire. Include testimonials or endorsements to add credibility. Emphasize the product’s unique benefits with concise, powerful language and incorporate a clear call-to-action (CTA) that guides users on what to do next.
