1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a solid 4 out of 5.
This ad is a great example of a testimonial ad done right. For those who don’t know, nine out of ten people trust what a customer says about a business over what the business says about itself.
That’s why using real customer feedback in your ads is a powerful way to grab attention and build credibility.
But not just any testimonial will do—the key is finding ones that are engaging, personal, and offer fresh insights, tackle common objections, or showcase real results.
Including the customer’s name and location boosts credibility even further. And while it’s already strong, adding the customer’s photo would make this ad an absolute winner.
2. Click Score:
This gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
The creative does its job, reinforcing the message and grabbing attention. At the same time, the ad stands out by using a customer testimonial that clearly highlights the benefits.
The headline does a great job of appealing to a broad audience and addressing common consumer concerns.
My only issue is that the description exceeds the character limit, making it harder to read in full. However, the ad has been running long enough to gather significant social proof, which will definitely boost the CTR.
3. Ugly Score:
This is a good 4 out of 5.
While the product image and brand name are prominently featured, using the testimonial lends an ‘ugly-ad’ feel, which can be surprisingly effective.
4. Congruency Score:
This ad’s congruency score is a solid 5 out of 5.
You’re redirected to the moisturizer’s product page, where you find the exact same benefits listed as showcased in the ad. The landing page is pleasing to the eyes and easy to navigate.
It also has CTAs, customer testimonials, and related product catalogs placed at the right spots.
Caption:
This caption gets a 5 out of 5.
It’s concise and clear, effectively explaining the offer with bullet points, paragraph breaks, and emojis to enhance readability.
Additionally, it includes a compelling call-to-action at the end, encouraging users to click the ‘buy now’ button.
How can you use this for your business?
- People trust what other customers say far more than what brands claim. If you want to boost your credibility and capture attention, include real testimonials in your ads. Don’t settle for generic quotes; look for testimonials that bring something extra—whether they’re addressing specific pain points, countering common objections, or highlighting unique benefits.
- Test headlines that speak directly to your customers’ needs and pain points; if you can anticipate what’s on their mind, your headline will resonate and encourage them to click through.
- A caption with a logical flow, easy-to-read structure, and clear CTA can make a big difference. Use bullet points, emojis, and paragraph breaks to create a compelling, consumable story.
