1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a solid 4.5 out of 5.
Using handwritten notes in ads is one of the easiest and most effective ways to grab attention and reduce CPM. This ad will definitely stop your scroll thanks to the human handwriting touch.
The frame is spot-on, with the conference image on the laptop screen. It subtly highlights what the ad is selling without making the product the center of attention.
Plus, it’s an educational ad, giving viewers a useful bit of information and building enough trust to make them want to click.
2. Click Score:
This gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
The ad description uses a testimonial format, which adds social proof and will likely boost the CTR. My only critique is the headline—it could be stronger.
Including quantifiable benefits, like the number of attendees or other specific reasons, would give viewers a more concrete reason to click.
3. Ugly Score:
This scores a perfect 5 out of 5.
The ad shows off the product without looking like a traditional ad, which is a big win for reducing CPM.
Even the handwriting on the sticky note isn’t overly polished—it looks like someone just jotted down a quick message, and that authenticity will work well in their favor.
4. Congruency Score:
I’m giving this a perfect 5 out of 5.
When you click through, you land on the conference page where the exact same value proposition as mentioned in the headline are used.
The page is clean, easy to navigate, and well-organized with CTAs, and customer reviews exactly where they should be.
Caption:
The caption is a perfect 5 out of 5.
It has everything—storytelling, bullet points, paragraph breaks, and emojis, making it engaging and easy to read. It also wraps up with a clear CTA, which ties everything together perfectly.
How can you use this for your business?
- Incorporate handwritten notes or text into your ad creatives. It’s a simple yet effective way to stop people mid-scroll because it feels personal, unpolished, and human.
- Testimonials or results shared upfront in the description add immediate credibility. People naturally trust what others say about your product or service, more than what you say about it. Include a brief but powerful testimonial that highlights a direct benefit or result that customers achieved by using your product. Specific numbers or tangible benefits can make this even more effective.
- A well-crafted caption can be your biggest driver for engagement. Use storytelling and bullet points to make it readable, and always finish with a clear CTA that leads your audience in the right direction. Simple tweaks like line breaks and emojis will make it easy to consume.
