Delicious Dumplings

1. Thumbnail score:
I think this is a 2 out of 5 for me. They could have done many things, but they missed doing them.
The image instantly suggests that this is a kitchen-related product but fails to communicate everything about it.
I would have used an overlay or a heading to mention something about the dumpling maker for a clearer idea.
2. Hook Score:
I’m giving this a 4 out of 5. The ad immediately grabs your attention by showing off the product’s functionality.
Anyone even slightly into cooking or kitchen gadgets will be curious to learn more.
Plus, videos that explain how a product works are great for ads because they give tangible proof to the customers.
3. Retention Score:
This gets a solid 5 out of 5 from me. The ad is just 8 seconds long, so people are likely to watch it multiple times to really see what the product does.
The short duration and upbeat background music will help ensure it has a good retention rate.
4. Click Score:
I’m giving this a 3 out of 5. I like the ad, but it doesn’t quite push me to click on it. They could’ve added a call-to-action or a compelling value proposition at the end to boost clicks.
5. Ugly Score:
This is an easy 5 out of 5. There’s no fancy branding, and the video looks like it’s been shot in a regular kitchen, which should resonate well with viewers.
Caption:
The brand’s caption is in a different language, so I won’t comment much on that.
How can you use this for your business?
- For e-commerce businesses, demonstrating how your product works is a powerful ad strategy. Users usually want to see a product in action before making a purchase. Showing this reduces any hesitation and makes them more inclined to buy.
- Aim for a short ad duration that’s packed with content to encourage multiple views and boost retention.
- Ensure your ad clearly outlines the benefits of clicking through, using a strong value proposition or call to action to drive action.
