1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a strong 4.5 out of 5.
UGC is a power move across industries because people trust real people. And Meta?
Loves ads that don’t feel like ads. This creative uses native platform elements like the Instagram poll overlay in a really smart way. It instantly catches your eye.
That format pulls people in because it feels like you’re watching a real person answer a real question, not someone reading off a script.
What I really like is that it’s a bit grainy.
The quality’s not high-def, but that’s the point – it looks like it was shot on the customer’s phone or in a casual interview setting, which adds serious credibility.
I’d take this raw format over a polished UGC shoot any day.
2. Hook Score:
This one’s a 4.5 out of 5.
The person says something super unexpected in the first 3 seconds, and you’re instantly curious. You’re not sure where it’s going, but you want to find out.
That’s the hook working perfectly. Building that kind of intrigue right at the start is such a good move; it holds attention without trying too hard.
3. Retention Score:
Solid 4.5 out of 5.
The ad is 38 seconds long, but the pacing is great. There are tons of jump cuts, product visuals, and interesting data points layered in.
You have to rewatch it to catch everything. That’s how you know retention will be high because people will naturally go back to absorb more of the message.
4. Click Score:
This earns a 4 out of 5.
The storytelling is solid. It keeps the audience watching until the offer is presented. On top of that, the headline speaks directly to a specific target audience, which naturally improves click-through rate.
The ad has also been live for a while now and has built up a good amount of social proof through comments and engagement—which is only going to help clicks.
That said, the ad could have taken better advantage of the caption space to emphasize the value or create urgency.
5. Ugly Score:
This gets a full 5 out of 5.
The UGC format brings a lot of authenticity to the ad. It looks like something a real customer filmed in their own space.
The use of native platform tools, unpolished visuals, and a simple message all come together to make the ad look like genuine content rather than a sales push.
That’s exactly what makes it work.
6. Congruency Score:
I’m giving this a 4 out of 5.
The landing page redirects you to the main website instead of the specific product page featured in the ad.
While the site is clean and has good visuals, this small disconnect may create friction for users who clicked with the intent of seeing one particular item.
Ideally, the user should land directly on the exact product they saw in the video.
Caption:
The caption is well-written and gets most things right. It has paragraph breaks and emojis, which help with readability. It also highlights the product benefits clearly and ends with a strong call-to-action.
How can you use this for your business?
1. Use real people. Don’t shy away from raw content. Whether it’s testimonials, unboxing clips, or simple Q&As—audiences trust content that looks and feels real.
2. Leverage platform features. Native overlays like polls, questions, and Instagram-style fonts make your ad feel organic and help reduce ad fatigue. They also reduce your CPM.
3. Start with a question or curiosity. Hook people with something they don’t expect or something they personally relate to. That’s how you stop the scroll.
