1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a solid 5 out of 5.
This ad is a textbook example of how to do conventional ads right. You can immediately tell it’s an ad from the branding and product visuals, but it still grabs your attention and makes you stop and look.
It nails all the elements a good thumbnail should have. Not only does it highlight the product features, but it also translates those features into benefits with the line “This is a meal.”
That’s key—while just listing features would’ve made it good, turning those into benefits takes it to another level. Plus, it smartly includes the price, appealing to cost-conscious users.
2. Click Score:
This gets a 5 out of 5 from me.
The ad stands out with its clean design and clear value proposition. It’s been running long enough to accumulate strong social proof, which only helps boost clicks.
I also appreciate how the headline and description perfectly complement the offer. Mentioning freebies is definitely a smart move to increase the CTR!
3. Ugly Score:
This scores a solid 3 out of 5.
While the product and brand are featured prominently, the ad itself looks more like an infographic than a typical ad, which is actually great. This style will likely reduce their CPM considerably.
4. Congruency Score:
I’m giving this a perfect 5 out of 5.
When you click through, you land on the product page featuring the exact product shown in the ad.
The page is clean, easy to navigate, and well-organized with CTAs, customer reviews, and related products all placed exactly where they should be.
Caption:
The caption gets a perfect 5 out of 5.
It’s got everything—storytelling, bullet points, paragraph breaks, and emojis that make it engaging and easy to read. Plus, it wraps up with a clear CTA that ties everything together perfectly.
How can you use this for your business?
- If you’re creating ads, don’t just stop at listing what your product does. Go a step further and tell people how it’ll solve their problems or make their lives easier.
- Yes, people say don’t make your ads too “ad-like,” but here’s the thing—if done right, your branding can actually help you. In this case, it’s working! So, don’t hesitate to showcase your brand identity, but make sure it’s woven into the narrative in a way that still grabs attention.
- Displaying the price in your ad can be a risky move, but when done thoughtfully, it builds trust with the audience. If your product is competitively priced or you’re offering a discount, show it off!
