1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a 3.5 out of 5.
While the overall ad is great, the thumbnail could definitely use some work. It doesn’t do enough to grab attention.
Highlighting the sale offer, including a person in the frame, or even just using a more urgency-driven headline could’ve made a big difference.
Ryze is a well-known brand now, but there are still plenty of people who don’t know what the hype is about. Without a more engaging thumbnail, they might just swipe past without giving it a second thought.
2. Hook Score:
This gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
The ad grabs your attention and then hooks you in the first three seconds with jump cuts and storytelling.
Right from the beginning, you’re pulled into the narrative the ad sets, indicating a strong hook that effectively engages viewers.
3. Retention Score:
This is a solid 4 out of 5.
While shorter ads are performing better, this particular example is a long ad done right.
This is a testament to the fact that if you create ads with good storytelling, the right visuals, and good audio – it will generate interest irrespective of it’s length.
Moreover, there are so many things happening in the ad that people are bound to watch it again, which will further enhance the retention rate.
4. Click Score:
This gets a 5 out of 5 from me.
The headline builds the offer further and entices you to click on the link. Plus, since the ad has been running for a while, it has gathered a huge amount of social proof through engagement, boosting the click rate.
Additionally, the ad’s focus on the sale will increase urgency and lead to a higher CTR.
5. Ugly Score:
This is a 5 out of 5.
The UGC format lends a lot of authenticity, making it relatable and engaging. At the same time, using native platform features, jump cuts, and unpolished shots make it even better.
6. Congruency Score:
This is a 5 out of 5.
You’re redirected to a landing page that highlights the exact same offer from the ad right at the start. This validates your choice. Moreover, the landing page is clean and clearly lists the product benefits along with customer testimonials.
Caption:
The caption is well-written but lacks effective formatting, such as adequate line breaks and emojis, which would improve the click-through rate.
Currently, benefits are lumped together in a paragraph which decrease the overall readability. Using bullet points here would make more sense. Additionally, a more compelling call-to-action is needed to maximize response.
How can you use this for your business?
- Make sure you highlight the offer front and center, or add a person to make it more relatable in your thumbanil. Throw in an urgency-driven overlay headline to catch people mid-scroll. You want something that screams “Don’t miss out!”
- Good storytelling is what will keep people watching longer. Sure, shorter ads work, but if you’ve got a longer one, make sure it’s engaging all the way through. Use visuals, good audio, and mix things up to keep viewers from zoning out. If they’re watching on repeat, you’ve nailed it!
- User-generated content (UGC) feels authentic and relatable. Use those unpolished, raw clips that look like they could’ve been filmed by a friend. Keep it real, and use jump cuts and native platform features for that organic feel.
