1. Thumbnail score:
I’m giving this a 5 out of 5.
Right off the bat, this thumbnail doesn’t look like an ad; it resembles influencer try-on hauls, which is great for lowering the CPM and grabbing attention.
However, the real star here is the overlay headline. Posing a question or addressing a common customer concern immediately is a top-notch strategy.
This approach, combined with the engaging thumbnail, sparks curiosity and captures the right kind of attention.
2. Hook Score:
This gets a 4 out of 5 from me.
The ad grabs your attention and hooks you in the first three seconds by diving straight into the haul.
This aligns perfectly with what viewers expect, which is essential for keeping your audience engaged right from the beginning.
3. Retention Score:
This is a solid 4.5 out of 5.
It’s a 39-second ad that doesn’t feel a second too long. Props to the influencer’s engaging storytelling and spot-on voice modulation, which keeps things interesting.
Plus, the product visuals and jump cuts effectively improve the retention rate.
4. Click Score:
This gets a 3.5 out of 5 from me.
Since the ad has been running for a while, it has gathered a huge amount of social proof through engagement, which will boost the click rate. However, the headline and description don’t do enough justice to the ad.
They could have been used to highlight the ad’s value proposition and build on curiosity. A stronger CTA at the end would have significantly improved the CTR.
5. Ugly Score:
This is a 5 out of 5.
It’s the influencer vibe that does it—feels real, relatable, and right at home on your feed. Using platform-specific features and keeping things a bit rough around the edges just adds to the charm.
6. Congruency Score:
This is a 5 out of 5.
Click through and bam, the landing page delivers exactly what you were promised. It’s clean, easy to navigate, and everything from the offer to the testimonials is right where you need them.
Caption:
This caption gets a 0.5 out of 5.
The caption’s there, but it’s just not doing enough. A single line? Come on, we can do better.
To engage your target audience, try writing better captions that elevate your offer and have a clear, well-defined CTA.
How can you use this for your business?
- Start by making your ads look less like ads. Use formats that your audience already enjoys, like influencer videos or customer testimonials.
- Use overlay headlines that ask a question or address a common objection right from the start. This strategy grabs attention quickly and piques curiosity, encouraging viewers to watch further to find the answer.
- A strong CTA is critical. Even if your ad has gathered significant social proof and engagement, a weak CTA can dampen your click-through rates.
